We were stopped on the way to the OtakuHELL show. They'd set up shelters for the Katrina Refugees at Reunion Arena a block away from the Hyatt Regency and at the Convention Center. We had to pass through a police blockade to get to AnimeFEST. It was surreal...

I gave that woman at your table a copy of it on VCD at Animaefest. Did you not get it?

I saved it to the hard drive but I can't find it, and the link has expired, too. When I find it I'll put it up.

Hmm... probably.

Oh, BTW, have you looked at the Lover video I left for you yet? Pretty bad, hmm? Too many guys kissing guys, I think.

I'm scheduled for a 6pm HELL at Oni-Con. Is that too early to show hopping peni?

Now, see, if I had a video of that I'd show it.

So you'd show this but not Ogenki Clinic.
WTF!?
My suggestion is this: even if you start something by accident, show it in its entirety.

"It may be hell, but It's not as bad as my job."

Yeah, because somebody unexpectedly getting hit in the balls with candy is funny and entertaining, which is the kind of the point. I've seen OGENKI CLINIC and it's neither particularly funny nor particulary entertaining, in any context.

If it's a choice between moving on to something new or sticking with something that's boring the audience, I will choose to move on to something new every time. I've shown MY JAPAN a number of times and it's a certain amount of funny, but you don't have to show the whole thing. Once you get the laugh out of the white guy in Asianface, it's a long haul to the next gag.

Sorry if this ruins your chances at Comedy Audience Participation, but it's Danno's Hell and it's Danno's call.

Dude,ANIMATED FULL PENATRATION ain't something I would ever show at OtakuHELL. I show an occasional bare breast here and there, but HARDCORE UGLY-BUMPING SEX ACTS belong at Hentai Fest, not in HELL.

Yeah, maybe I was a little too quick on the button. I've been doing shows for 5 years now and every crowd is different, and sometimes I misread the signals. I knew a guy who once misread the signals and now he eats his dinner through a tube. There are a few clips I wish I had shown all the way through, like OVER TIME, the student film tribute for Jim Henson. But I read the crowd signal wrong, I should've stuck it out. Next time I will.

I think at this point it should be pretty obvious that Hell isn't the place for "Ogenki Clinic", unless it was an educational film produced by the Japanese Ministry Of Health starring Bob Horner and Pink Lady.

Key phrase: "funny in spite of itself."

True, I cut alot of the older stuff short. But I had alot of new clips for this show. I gave the new stuff priority.

And seriously, there's no way I can show Ogenki Clinic without running it through a fullscreen mosaic filter. Or I'd have to sit down and edit out all the full penatration shots...that'd be alot of work...

In all honesty, I was disappointed.

After requesting Ogenki Clinic Adventures twice and not getting it, I requested My Japan. I got a whopping 30 seconds of it at most. I had a bunch of funny lines for that one. The new stuff really wasn't that too hellish. Too many things were cut off too fast.

The worst part of the night though was that Bruce hit me in the balls with a piece of candy. Tried to block it, but couldn't.

Let's hope you work out the bugs at Onicon.

As for what was played, I remember the following:
Forklift Driver Klaus
Some PSA featuring David Prouse and Jon Pertwee
The short from Drink, Drive, Rationalize
Bring Me the Head of Charlie Brown
The Cautious Twins
Der Furher's Face
Yatta!
Fish Fight
The TMNT promo
30 seconds of Are You Listening?
30 seconds of My Japan
30 seconds of Toothache of a Clown
30 seconds of Heino from That's Irritainment
30 seconds of an old STD film

AnimeFEST was the first con that I did my OtakuHELL show at. And they've been the most generous con of all the cons I've played. They've given me the biggest rooms I've ever played and the longest sets I've ever played. This show was the 5th AnimeFEST show, and it was a good show....

I'll be honest, I don't remember my playlist from the AnimeFEST show. Can anybody fill in the blanks?
