Who's doing HELL at Ohayocon? Is Jeff helping you with this show, Gavv?

Take lots of pictures to share with those of us who can't make it!

Truth be told, I like being filler in this case, especially when it appears that we are the primary counterprogramming for the masquerade. We should have a good crowd for both shows.

yeah, and any commentary we do can be in the form of <press pause> <chortle> <press pause> ^_^. The way the line up's coming it's definitely looking like an oldschool/newschool type of Hell. and the winner is you!

Anime Hell Extras is basically just a freeform that the three of us will have for BS-ing about hell, showing older/retired/'extra' stuff we couldn't get in to the main show....so yes....we are a schedule filler!!! See the monkeys (and one robot) dance!

HELL/Madness is Friday night, apparently right after the AMV contest screening. The 10pm start time is of course totally up to the whim of fate.

Ohayocon has also scheduled a "HELL Extra" for 8pm Saturday, which probably makes us the Masquerade counterprogramming.

One othe rthing I'm experimenting with is editing together entire blocks of the show into single files so that all we have to do is play one part and sit back for 10-15 minutes. It detracts a bit from the whole free-form aspect that makes HELL what it is, but keeping in mind we also have the "Choose Your Fate" gimmick as well as the ability to throw additional bits in at will I think the balance remains achieved. What we gain from it is less downtime with disc swapping.

The BAG OF DOOM! font is called "Amped For Evil" and I got it from a mishmash archive of fonts from a Bittorrent site.

I've completed pretty much all of the custom cues I plan to make for Ohayocon unless Gavv has any other ideas. What remains is to make the "Choose Your Fate" discs.

Here's some screencaps from the "Hell's Choice" cue, which allows us to play a truly wretched clip of our choosing when an audience member selects it. It's kind of like our Whammy or Bankrupt space.

What you can't see from these is that Heino's head bops along to the beat of and lipsyncs the intro to "Fire" by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. Y'know, the song that begins with a shouted "I AM THE GOD OF HELL FIRE, AND I BRING YOU..!"

Man, I wish I could be there to see that. That's brilliant! I gotta steal that for my OtakuHELL shows.

Is AnimeHELL/Midnight Madness on Friday night or Saturday?

Otherwise, it's pretty much the same old "The Day of DOOM is coming!" except for a tweak or two.

This is a screencap from the "Bag O' Doom" cue, which uses some Indiana Jones footage and has Twisted Sister for the music. Gavv should be getting this on the super-secret FTP site tonight.

I really need to start learning After Effects. That looks fantastic.

I still feel the most doomish moments from INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE was the musical number on the first reel. Scary stuff...

What's the font you used for THE BAG OF DOOM? Looks great!

This will be the second year of the "choose your fate" gimmick, where audience members get to pick a number and thus blindly select the next bit. Gavv has a bit in mind where an unlucky chooser will get to reach into the horrifying depths of the Bag o' Doom.

I'm getting much more dangerous with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects to boot, with a nicely edited intro clip to start things rolling.

I can donate a couple dozen AnimeHELL buttons to the Bag o' Doom and some AnimeHELL VCDs, too.

Can you post a screencap or two of your intro clip?

I'll be there, but I plan on enjoying the Gavigan Hell spectacle as a spectator and perhaps a helper-outter. I'm thinking about borrowing the inflatable Godzilla from Matt Murray and assaulting the audience with it.
